This documentary features two extraordinary photographers, Sigridur Zoëga and August Sander. August Sander is one of Germany's best known photographers, and Sigridur was a successful photographer in Iceland at the beginning of the 1900s. Their lifelong friendship started when Sigrudur apprenticed in Germany with Sander from 1911 - 1914.

It is during these years that Sander photographed for his masterwork, "Citizens of the 20th Century."

Never before seen footage of August Sander and Sigridur Zoëga, their personal correspondance for over fifty years, and their exquisite photographs form the framework of this lyrical film. Music by Daniel Beaussier, script by Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir.
